About the Team

The Enterprise SEO Team ensures that Lowe's digital experiences are optimized for discoverability, relevance, and performance across all search channels. The team delivers consistent, data-driven optimization of site content, metadata, and technical elements while conducting ongoing competitive analysis.

Partnering closely with Business, Product, Content, Site Operations, and Technology teams, SEO ensures that digital assets remain accurate, search-friendly, and aligned with customer intent, ultimately strengthening visibility and organic growth across Lowes.com.

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, SEO is responsible for building the enterprise-wide foundation for how we do SEO, AEO and GEO. This role will focus on SEO excellence and will not be required to manage day-to-day SEO operations and execution, The Sr. Manager will define the standards, governance frameworks, SOPs, measurement models, and experimentation programs that enable cross-functional teams across the organization to build SEO best practices into their organizational processes and execute high-quality, consistent and scalable SEO.

He/She will establish and lead the SEO/AEO/GEO center of excellence, creating governance frameworks for all aspects of SEO, playbooks for ensuing upstream hygiene, and lead SEO education and evangelism across Product, Technology, Marketing, Content, UX, and Operations. In parallel, this leader will build a robust analytics and experimentation program that elevates how we measure organic performance, run SEO experiments, and convert insights into action.

He/She will partner closely with the SEO Operations Lead, Product and Tech teams (including data, experimentation, and AI/ML partners) to ensure that SEO is embedded into roadmaps, platforms, and decision-making across the digital ecosystem.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain enterprise-wide SEO, AEO and GEO governance frameworks, including guiding principles, standards, and decision-rights (RACI) across technical, content, and off-page SEO.
  • Create and own SEO playbooks by function (e.g., Product, Content, UX, Engineering, Merchandising) to codify best practices, do/don't guidelines, and checklists for execution teams.
  • Establish and lead a Center of Enablement (CoE) for SEO, including office hours, consults, documentation, templates, and self-service tools that help teams execute consistently at scale.
  • Develop frameworks and standards for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative/AI-driven experiences (GEO), including structured data, entity optimization, and AI-overview visibility.
  • Partner with the SEO operations lead to ensure governance is practical, adoptable, and embedded into workflows, product requirements, content briefs, and QA processes.
  • Collaborate with Product & Engineering to embed SEO requirements and quality gates into platform roadmaps, release processes, and tooling (e.g., CMS, design systems, experimentation platforms).
  • Monitor compliance with SEO governance through periodic audits and dashboards, and drive corrective actions in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Build and lead the SEO experimentation program, including test strategy, governance, and operating model (from hypothesis generation to execution and readouts).
  • Define experimentation standards and best practices for SEO tests (e.g., holdouts, page-level versus template-level experiments, guardrails, minimum detectable effects).
  • Maintain a prioritized experiment backlog in partnership with SEO operations, Product, Tech, and Content teams, aligned with business goals and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Analytics/Data Science and Experimentation teams to ensure SEO experiments are statistically sound, properly instrumented, and correctly interpreted.
  • Create clear storytelling around experiment outcomes (wins, neutral, and losses) and feed learnings into playbooks, governance updates, and future roadmap decisions.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to SEO leadership and Digital leadership on the long-term vision for SEO, AEO, and GEO.
  • Influence senior stakeholders across Product, Tech, Marketing, Merchandising, and Operations to adopt SEO best practices and invest in SEO-enabling capabilities.

Years of Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in SEO / Organic Growth in a digital, e-commerce, or product-led environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior/lead role focused on enterprise SEO strategy, governance, or analytics/experimentation.
  • Prior experience working in complex, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholder groups (e.g., Product, Tech, Marketing, Content, UX).
  • Work experience in a large multinational E-commerce organization will be preferred, though not mandatory.

Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Marketing, Business Analytics, Computer Science,

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Certifications in Web Analytics, Experimentation (e.g., A/B testing), or Data/Business Analytics.
  • SEO-related certifications (e.g., analytics, tag management, or recognized SEO/analytics platforms).

Skill Set Required

  • Deep expertise across key pillars of SEO (technical, content, on-page, information architecture, and internal linking), with strong familiarity with AEO and emerging GEO/AI search experiences.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing SEO governance frameworks, standards, and playbooks at enterprise scale.
  • Strong background in SEO analytics and reporting, including hands-on experience with web analytics (e.g., GA4 / Adobe), SEO tools (e.g., Search Console, enterprise SEO platforms), and data visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated experience running SEO experimentation and A/B tests, including test design, interpretation, and rollout of learnings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate data into clear narratives and practical recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and track metrics and goals in ambiguous environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with the ability to simplify complex SEO concepts for non-technical audiences and senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence without direct authority.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Passion for leveraging scaleable technologies such as machine learning and Generative AI.
  • Prior experience in e-commerce or high-scale digital products.

Secondary Skills (desired)

  • Experience with SQL or data querying and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with experimentation platforms and methodologies.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven search or content experiences, including schema/structured data, knowledge graphs, and generative AI integration.
  • Passion for building repeatable, scalable systems, and for enabling others through education, tools, and documentation.
