Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Direct Material Cost (DMC) and Capex estimations for upcoming models
  • Identify vendors with advanced technology, prepare business plans, validate vendors, and initiate vendor empanelment
  • Review Statement of Requirements (SOR) and technical specifications to shortlist vendors
  • Review technical specifications and drawings shared by Product Development
  • Prepare RFQ documents and ensure TRSO signoff from Sourcing Quality (SQ)
  • Analyze quotations received from vendors and prepare cost estimates as per TML standards
  • Shortlist suitable vendors after negotiation and recommend Supplier of Business (SOB) based on long-term sourcing strategy
  • Obtain internal approval for vendor finalization through sourcing council and release Purchase Orders (POs)
  • Monitor and review supplier financial health, operations, and industrial relations for long-term sustainability
  • Identify vendors for long-term strategic partnerships and Early Vendor Involvement (EVI) for critical items
  • Optimize processes and supply chain by localizing components or introducing alternate technologies with vendors
  • Compare current parts with proposed changes and review commercial impact
  • Release RFQs for shortlisted vendors and ensure amendments to POs on revised pricing
