Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned HR professional who has strong end-to-end exposure across the employee lifecycle and brings hands-on experience in building people practices in a startup environment. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable with strategy and execution, and can build, streamline, and scale HR processes from scratch while partnering closely with business leaders. This role will be supported by junior HR team members for execution, while the incumbent is expected to provide direction, oversight, and ownership across the employee lifecycle.

What This Role Will Own

  • Drive the complete employee lifecycle including hiring support, onboarding, payroll management/co-ordination, performance management, employee engagement, learning interventions, policy implementation, employee relations, retention, exits, and alumni processes, with execution support from junior HR team members
  • Build and strengthen HR processes, frameworks, and systems from the ground up in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Partner with business leaders and people managers to understand team needs and provide practical HR solutions
  • Drive a strong culture of accountability, performance, engagement, and employee experience
  • Own and improve HR policies, people processes, and governance mechanisms in line with business growth
  • Guide and leverage junior team members in the execution of operational and process-driven HR activities
  • Support organization design, role clarity, team structuring, and workforce planning discussions
  • Manage employee grievances, sensitive people matters, and disciplinary processes with maturity and balance
  • Analyze people trends, identify gaps, and recommend interventions around retention, performance, and team effectiveness
  • Ensure HR operations and compliance hygiene are maintained in partnership with relevant stakeholders
  • Drive change management and support leaders through periods of growth, ambiguity, and transformation
  • Own payroll inputs, validations, closures, and employee query resolution with high accuracy and process discipline

Ideal candidate profile

  • 6 to 9 years of HR experience with strong exposure as an HR Generalist / People Partner
  • Must have managed the entire employee lifecycle
  • Has worked in a startup or high-growth environment and understands pace, ambiguity, and evolving structures
  • Has experience building and evolving processes, policies, and people practices
  • Has experience managing work through team members and driving outcomes through junior staff
  • Strong business partnering capability with the ability to influence managers and senior stakeholders
  • Practical, hands-on, execution-focused, and comfortable rolling up sleeves
  • Strong understanding of performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, payroll, and organization building
  • Able to balance employee empathy with business needs and process discipline
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Prior exposure to HRMS, dashboards, reporting, people analytics, and compliance will be preferred
