Job Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and hands-on Senior Manager of Accounting & Bookkeeping to lead our financial operations. This role is unique; it requires a high-level strategic thinker who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to handle day-to-day transactional tasks. You will ensure the integrity of our financial data, maintain compliance with US GAAP, and manage the full accounting cycle from daily invoicing to complex year-end closures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Accounting and Bookkeeping
- Accounts Receivable: handling the entire revenue booking and invoicing process, including vendor registrations, collections management and revenue reconciliation. Strong familiarity with tools like QuickBooks is necessary.
- Account Payable: handling the entire vendor payment process, including approval phase, credit card receipt collection and booking.
- Transactional Management: Manage daily bookkeeping activities, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Banking: Perform daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to ensure operational liquidity.
2. Financial Reporting & Closures
- Month/Quarter/Year-End: Lead and execute the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial statements are prepared in strict accordance with US GAAP.
- Audit Support: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
3. Management & Strategy
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies in the accounting workflow, including the automation of manual tasks.
- Financial Analysis: Provide management with insights into budget variances, departmental spending, and financial health.
- Tax Coordination: Assist with tax preparation and compliance requirements for state and federal filings.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Master's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior-level role.
- Technical Expertise:
- Deep expertise in US GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or Sage).
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
