Role Description The Senior Interior Designer will lead end-to-end design for residential interior projects, ensuring that concepts are fully executable and aligned with Shilpkar's delivery standards. In this full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, the designer will develop design concepts, space plans, and detailed drawings, and coordinate closely with project managers and on-site teams to ensure accurate implementation. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting clients to understand requirements, preparing presentations and mood boards, selecting materials and finishes, and specifying FF&E in line with budget and timelines. The role involves reviewing construction drawings, conducting site visits to monitor progress and quality, and resolving design and execution issues in collaboration with vendors and contractors. The Senior Interior Designer will also mentor junior designers, contribute to process improvement, and help maintain design consistency across multiple projects.
Qualifications
- Strong Interior Design and Architecture skills, with the ability to translate concepts into practical, buildable solutions.
- Proficiency in Space Planning to optimize layouts, circulation, and functional zoning in residential projects.
- Experience preparing and reviewing Construction Drawings, including detailed layouts, sections, and technical documentation.
- Capability in FF&E selection and specification, including furniture, fixtures, equipment, materials, and finishes suitable for home interiors.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in residential interior design, including on-site coordination and project execution.
- Proficiency with design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and presentation tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and vendors.
- Attention to detail, a solutions-oriented approach, and comfort working in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment in Mumbai.
