Senior Full Stack Developer

The Global Services Team supports company critical solutions that enable our Global Services business partners to support and protect Lilly's most essential assets. This position will be responsible for the hands-on development, enhancement, and maintenance of our Global Services key services/Data platform.

The senior full stack developer will be responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end solutions across the technology stack, including front-end UI development, back-end services, and AWS cloud infrastructure. The resource will translate business requirements and architectural designs into high-quality, scalable code while following established development standards and best practices. The resource will collaborate closely with solution architects and business analysts to deliver features that meet stakeholder needs while ensuring code maintainability and performance. This position requires strong proficiency in modern front-end frameworks, server-side technologies, RESTful APIs, and database design. The resource will participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and mentor junior developers on the team. This role will assume responsibility for troubleshooting production issues, optimizing application performance, and implementing automated testing to ensure solution reliability. Key Responsibilities:

Development & Architecture

• Design and build scalable full-stack applications for enterprise use

• Develop backend services using Node.js and Python

• Create responsive, intuitive frontend interfaces using modern frameworks (React/Angular)

• Implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecture

• Hands-on development with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Power BI for reporting and visualization

• Translate business requirements and architectural designs into well-structured, maintainable code

Cloud & DevOps

• Deploy and manage applications on AWS (Lambda, Glue, Athena, S3, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway)

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment

• Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency

• Ensure security best practices and compliance requirements are met

• Experience with infrastructure as code using CloudFormation

Database Management

• Design and optimize database schemas across relational and NoSQL platforms

• Implement efficient data access patterns for high-performance applications

• Perform query optimization and performance tuning

• Build data integration solutions including ingestion, cleansing, and transforming raw data into curated datasets

Technical Leadership

• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices

• Mentor junior and mid-level developers on technologies and development practices

• Collaborate with solution architects to drive technical decisions and ensure alignment with architectural patterns

• Develop and maintain technical and training documentation

Required Experience:

• Experience developing and deploying full-stack applications on AWS

• Node.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)

• Python, SQL, PySpark for back-end and data processing

• Experience working with GitHub and version control best practices

• Experience with JSON, REST API design and implementation

• Experience with AWS services including Lambda, Glue, Athena, S3, ECS/Fargate

• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline)

• Experience with containerization (Docker)

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases

• Familiarity with Scrum teams and working in Agile environment

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

• Excellent self-management skills
