GalaxEye Space is building a new generational fleet of multi-sensor Earth observation satellites. Our mission is to transform complex satellite data into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers on Earth. We are building the software backbone that connects space, ground, and users Mission Control sits at the heart of this.
The Mission Control Center (MCC) is where satellite health, ground station passes, tasking, telemetry, and mission performance are monitored and controlled in real time. This system needs to be reliable, scalable, and built with long-term operational thinking.
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with deep backend expertise who can design and build robust systems end-to-end from architecture and data models to deployment pipelines and production reliability.
What You'll DoDesign and implement scalable backend systems powering telemetry, command & control, scheduling, and monitoring workflows.
Define system architecture modular services, clean APIs, database design, and distributed communication.
Build well-structured REST/gRPC APIs and real-time data pipelines (WebSockets/SSE where needed).
Work with PostgreSQL and other data stores (including time-series data when applicable).
Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure clean API contracts and efficient data handling.
Containerize services using Docker and manage deployments via CI/CD pipelines.
Work with Kubernetes (or similar orchestration systems) for staging and production deployments.
Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices.
Participate in code reviews and mentor engineers to maintain high engineering standards.
Take ownership of features from system design to production rollout.
58+ years of strong software development experience.
Deep backend expertise (Python/FastAPI, Node.js, Java, Rust, or similar).
Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, and scalability.
Solid experience with PostgreSQL and production-grade database design.
Hands-on experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
Working knowledge of Kubernetes and production deployments.
Basic to intermediate understanding of frontend systems (React/TypeScript preferred).
Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
Strong debugging skills and a practical approach to problem solving.
Ability to document systems clearly and communicate architecture decisions.
Experience in aerospace, satellite systems, ground segment, mission control, or similar high-reliability industries.
Background in mission-critical domains such as telecom, banking, industrial control, or defence systems.
Experience with real-time systems, telemetry pipelines, or streaming architectures.
Familiarity with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka, NATS).
Exposure to observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
Experience working in hybrid cloud + on-prem environments.
Work on real space systems Build software that directly operates and monitors satellites in orbit.
