Practice Area: Divorce & Family Law

Location: New Delhi

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Family Law Attorney to lead divorce, child custody, and related family matters for our clients. You will manage complex cases from intake to resolution, mentor junior associates, and uphold the highest standards of legal advocacy and client care. The ideal candidate combines strong litigation skills with negotiation expertise and genuine empathy for clients navigating difficult life transitions.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management & Litigation

- Handle full caseload of contested and uncontested divorce, legal separation, and annulment proceedings

- Represent clients in court for hearings, trials, and settlement conferences on matters including child custody, visitation, child support, alimony, and property division

- Draft and review pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, parenting plans, and post-judgment modifications

- Manage high-net-worth divorces involving complex asset tracing, business valuations, and trust interests

Client Advocacy & Counsel

- Conduct client consultations to assess goals, explain legal options, and develop case strategy

- Provide clear, practical advice during emotionally charged situations while maintaining professional objectivity

- Negotiate settlements through mediation, collaborative law, and alternative dispute resolution methods

Advisory & Compliance

- Advise on related family law issues: adoption, guardianship, paternity, domestic violence restraining orders, and prenuptial/postnuptial agreements

- Ensure compliance with family court rules, local statutes, and ethical obligations

- Stay current on evolving case law and legislative changes affecting family law

Leadership & Development

- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, paralegals, and legal interns

- Contribute to business development through client referrals, community engagement, and thought leadership

- Collaborate with forensic accountants, therapists, and other experts as needed

Requirements

Education: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in [State/Jurisdiction]

Experience: Minimum 7+ years practicing family law, with substantial experience in divorce and custody litigation

Technical Skills:

- Deep knowledge of family law statutes, civil procedure, and evidence rules

- Strong trial advocacy, deposition, and motion practice experience

- Skilled in financial discovery, asset valuation, and support calculations

- Familiarity with case management software and e-filing systems

Soft Skills:

- Exceptional negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities

- High emotional intelligence and discretion with sensitive client matters

- Strong written and oral advocacy skills

- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-pressure situations

- Business development mindset and client-focused approach

Preferred Qualifications

Board Certification in Family Law or equivalent specialization

Certified Family Law Mediator or Collaborative Law training

Experience with high-conflict custody cases and international family law issues

Track record of published articles, speaking engagements, or bar association leadership
