About the Role
We are looking to onboard a highly accomplished Pharmaceutical Litigation Associate with a strong academic and professional background in both law and pharmaceutical sciences. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value disputes at the intersection of intellectual property, regulatory law, and life sciences, advising leading domestic and multinational clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise and represent clients in pharmaceutical and life sciences litigation, including patent infringement and validity disputes.
- Draft, review, and settle pleadings, written submissions, affidavits, and legal opinions with precision and strategic insight.
- Appear before courts, tribunals, and regulatory authorities, and assist senior counsel in high-stakes hearings.
- Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with client objectives and commercial considerations.
- Undertake in-depth legal and technical research on issues relating to patent law, regulatory frameworks, and pharmaceutical jurisprudence.
- Collaborate closely with scientific experts and internal teams to analyze complex drug formulations, patent specifications, and regulatory data.
- Support pre-litigation advisory, including risk assessment, enforcement strategies, and dispute avoidance.
- Maintain direct engagement with clients, ensuring responsiveness, clarity, and high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Candidate must possess an LL.B. degree from a recognized institution.
- Degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related discipline (strongly preferred).
- 5–10 years of demonstrable experience in pharmaceutical / IP litigation, preferably with a leading law firm or a reputed in-house legal team.
Core Competencies
- Strong command over Indian patent law, civil procedure, and litigation practice.
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory regimes (including CDSCO and international frameworks) will be an advantage.
- Ability to interpret and distil complex scientific and technical material into clear legal arguments.
- Exceptional drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Commercial awareness and a solution-oriented approach to dispute resolution.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing capabilities.
