Your Job
As the Sr. Engineer Product Design, you will drive end-to-end new product introduction for our Cable Harness PSBU, owning technical delivery for assigned customer accounts. You'll translate customer needs into robust mechanical designs, validate concepts through simulation and prototyping, and enable scalable manufacturing while working closely with cross-functional and global teams.
Our Team
You will join the Product Engineering team, a cross-functional group that partners closely with Product Marketing, Sample Room, Operations (MIE/MFG/QA) and Sourcing to bring complex cable-harness products from concept to production. The team emphasizes collaborative problem solving, hands-on prototyping, and continuous improvement across global programs.
What You Will Do
- Lead the technical development and launch of new cable-harness products, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, manufacturability, and quality standards.
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers and internal stakeholders, guiding design choices and resolving technical issues across time zones.
- Create and iterate mechanical concepts and detailed CAD models (UG NX), using engineering analysis and simulation to de-risk designs before physical validation.
- Define and execute validation plans (prototypes, 3D-printed samples, reliability tests), and drive design reviews, DFMEA, and DFM activities to ensure product robustness.
- Own documentation and change-control: engineering drawings, specifications, FAI disposition, and ECR/ECN follow-through to support costing and production readiness.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, or equivalent).
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in product development or mechanical product design.
- Proficient in UG NX (Siemens NX) for part and assembly modeling.
- Solid understanding of DFMEA, GD&T, and the product development lifecycle (APQP/PPAP familiarity).
- Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams and managing technical customer communications.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience with IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3 automotive standards.
- Hands-on experience with simulation/FEA and prototype validation (including 3D printing).
- Prior exposure to change-management tools/systems (Work Manager / ECTR) and formal ECR/ECN processes.
- Project management experience or formal certification.
- Strong leadership skills and experience coordinating with global engineering centers or suppliers.
