We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Senior Design Engineer with expertise in Low Voltage panel design and engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring high-quality outputs, timely delivery, and client satisfaction. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent coordination abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation of General Arrangement (GA) and Electrical Schematic drawings using AutoCAD (2D) and ePlan.
- Oversee the development of Single Line Diagrams, Power Diagrams, and Control Diagrams.
- Prepare Bills of Material accurately based on tenders received.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to read and understand architectural plans and schematics.
- Coordinate with consultants and customers for detailed discussions and secure approval of drawings.
- Follow up with suppliers, and coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely execution of orders.
- Supervise assembly and wiring processes, and monitor the progress of work at the shop floor.
- Oversee project production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
- Be actively involved in technical discussions with clients and ensure jobs are carried out to the client's satisfaction.
- Suggest modifications to designs to enhance overall quality and performance.
- Prepare comprehensive shop drawings schedules, procurement schedules, and installation schedules.
- Coordinate with the Contracts Department, specifically the tender team, to develop competitive and technically sound bid proposals and project schedules.
- Prepare change orders and variation records resulting from specification changes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Low Voltage panel design and engineering.
- Expertise in AutoCAD (2D) and ePlan for electrical drafting.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematic drawings, SLDs, power diagrams, and control diagrams.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and technical schematics.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
