Job Summary:
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading electrical design review, technical coordination, and engineering assurance across assigned projects. The role ensures that electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, ELV, and life safety systems are designed and delivered in compliance with project specifications, international standards, and operational requirements. The position requires deep technical expertise, multidisciplinary coordination, and active involvement during design development, procurement, and construction stages.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead technical review of electrical design packages, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and project performance requirements.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, and infrastructure teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Review contractor and consultant submissions including shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and RFIs.
- Participate in constructability reviews, value engineering initiatives, and technical workshops.
- Support tender evaluation and procurement activities related to electrical scope.
- Monitor design development and implementation to ensure alignment with project cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Identify electrical system risks and propose mitigation strategies during design and construction phases.
- Contribute to commissioning strategy, testing procedures, and system integration reviews.
- Participate in technical coordination meetings and stage-gate reviews where required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years in Electrical engineering design and technical delivery on large-scale building projects.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong background in power distribution, lighting systems, grounding, ELV, and life safety systems design and review.
- Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, NFPA, IEEE, or equivalent codes.
- Experience using electrical design and coordination tools (e.g., ETAP, Dialux, Revit MEP, Navisworks, or similar).
- Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing technical interfaces.
- Professional engineering certification or chartership is preferred.
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
