Location: Hyderabad

Salary: 50-1lac per month (Depends on Experience)

Experience: 8 12 years (Relevant Experience in Electrical Design.)

Qualificatio: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Software: AutoCAD Must (Revit / BIM Added advantage)

Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer MEP is responsible for the design, coordination and supervision of electrical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective electrical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

Prepare and review electrical designs, calculations, and drawings for:

Power distribution (LV/MV)

Lighting systems

Earthing & lightning protection

ELV systems (Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, PA, BMS, Data & Telecom)

Ensure designs comply with local authority regulations, NBC, IEC, IS codes, and project specifications.

Conduct load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short circuit studies, and equipment sizing.

Coordination & Approvals

Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines to resolve clashes and design conflicts.

Review and comment on shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.

Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and utility providers for approvals and technical clarifications.

Site Execution & Supervision

Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning.

Monitor site activities to ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications.

Attend site meetings, inspections, and coordinate with contractors and vendors.

Testing & Commissioning

Supervise testing and commissioning of electrical systems.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.

Support final inspections, snag clearance, and handover documentation.

Leadership & Management

Guide and mentor junior engineers and draftsmen.

Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Identify design and execution risks and propose corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).

Minimum 812 years of relevant experience in MEP electrical systems.

Proven experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or high-rise projects.

Familiarity with local authority submission and approval processes.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of MEP electrical systems and industry standards.

Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit MEP knowledge is an advantage.

Good understanding of fire and life safety systems.

Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Attributes

Experience with green building standards (LEED / IGBC) added advantage.

Exposure to value engineering and cost optimization.

Strong site and consultant coordination experience.
