We are looking for a detail-oriented Dra sman to join our team. This posi on offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, suppor ng architects and engineers to turn concepts and designs into accurate technical drawings and documents. The ideal candidate will have strong technical drawing skills, a en on to detail, and proficiency in CAD so ware. Job Overview: As a Dra sman, you will be responsible for crea ng technical drawings, plans, and blueprints used for construc on, architectural, or engineering projects. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure that designs are accurately translated into detailed drawings that can be used for construc on and permit approvals. You will also ensure that all technical documents adhere to regulatory standards, codes, and project specifica ons. Key Responsibili es: 1. Technical Drawing and Dra ing: o Produce accurate, detailed technical drawings and blueprints for architectural, engineering, or construc on projects using AutoCAD, Revit, or other industry standard CAD soware. o Create drawings for a variety of project types, including residen al, commercial, or industrial, based on specifica ons provided by architects, engineers, or clients. o Develop accurate floor plans, eleva ons, sec ons, and details to ensure clarity and precision in the construc on process. o Prepare drawings for permit submission and approval, ensuring all regulatory codes are adhered to. 2. Collabora on with Design Team: o Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify design specifica ons and requirements for each project. o Assist in the modifica on of designs and drawings as needed to meet client needs or regulatory requirements. o Ensure that all revisions and updates to drawings are properly documented and communicated to the team. 3. Document Prepara on and Management: o Prepare and maintain organized drawing sets, project specifica ons, and other documenta on related to the design and construc on process. o Assist with crea ng project manuals, technical reports, and construc on documenta on for bidding, tendering, and contract purposes. o Ensure that all project documenta on is stored properly and is easily accessible for review and reference. 4. Site Visits and Data Collec on: o Conduct site visits, when necessary, to gather measurements, assess condi ons, and ensure that the drawings reflect the actual project site accurately. o Collect and document data regarding exis ng structures, topography, and environmental condi ons to inform design decisions and revisions. 5. Quality Control and Compliance: o Review and cross-check drawing sets for accuracy, consistency, and completeness before submission to clients or contractors. o Ensure all drawings meet applicable building codes, zoning regula ons, and other industry standards. o Ensure that designs and documents comply with client specifica ons and project requirements. 6. Project Support: o Assist in preparing presenta ons and visual materials for clients, stakeholders, and project teams. o Coordinate with other departments (e.g., structural engineers, mechanical engineers) to integrate all required disciplines into a cohesive set of drawings. Required Skills and Qualifica ons: Educa on: o High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or cer ficate in dra ing, architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferred. o Comple on of CAD or technical drawing programs or cer fica ons is highly desirable. Experience: o 1-3 years of experience in dra ing or technical drawing, preferably in an architecture, engineering, or construc on environment. o Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD so ware is required. o Familiarity with BIM (Building Informa on Modelling) and other design tools is a plus. Technical Skills: o Proficiency in AutoCAD and other dra ing so ware like Revit, SketchUp, or Vector works. o Knowledge of construc on documents, building codes, and zoning laws. o Ability to understand and interpret architectural and engineering design concepts and specifica ons. o Strong ability to create 2D and 3D drawings that are both aesthe cally accurate and technically sound. A en on to Detail and Accuracy: o Strong a en on to detail with the ability to spot errors in technical drawings. o Ability to ensure the accuracy and clarity of drawings to avoid issues during the construc on phase. Communica on and Teamwork: o Strong communica on skills to collaborate effec vely with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients. o Ability to take direc on and work well within a team environment, while also working independently on assigned tasks. o Ability to explain technical informa on to non-technical stakeholders. Organiza onal and Time Management Skills: o Strong organiza onal skills with the ability to manage mul ple projects and deadlines simultaneously. o Ability to priori ze tasks and ensure mely comple on of drawings and documenta on. Problem-Solving and Cri cal Thinking: o Ability to iden fy poten al issues with drawings or designs and suggest modifica ons or solu ons. o Strong analy cal and problem-solving abili es when it comes to handling complex design elements or technical challenges. Preferred Qualifica ons: Experience with 3D modelling soware (such as 3ds Max, SketchUp), and rendering tools. Experience with site surveying and data collec on for architectural drawings. Familiarity with green building prac ces, energy-efficient designs, or sustainable construc on. Cer fica on in dra ing, CAD, or related technical areas is a plus.
