Responsibilities and Duties:
Role Objective:The role will ensure common delivery processes across the team, lead in innovation to improve efficiency of the CAD resources and lead staff development needs in CAD design. The position will work across clients and projects and across our delivery teams
Accountabilities:The role will be accountable for the acceptable quality of CAD deliverables leaving the engineering function.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and give technical input and guidance into production of both 3D and 2D drawings.
- Development and Training of engineering resources in CAD design deliverables.
- Manage and develop common working methods for CAD design production to ensure consistency and improve efficiency.
- Ensure CAD Quality control and checking processes are communicated and being met for CAD production in the team
- Keep up to date with all technical quality management procedures, developments and specifications related to the discipline work scope.
- Ensure that the quality of all your deliverables before passing to others for review.
- CAD Delivery QC of outputs from the CAD team
- Produce CAD models in AutoCAD Civil 3-D to support engineering studies and construction activities.
- Produce drawings, sketches, and reports to convey the outputs form Engineering to stakeholders internally and externally.
- Ensure, as far as practicable, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and programme.
- Keep up to date with all technical quality management procedures, developments and specifications related to the discipline work scope.
Essential:
- Experienced CAD Technician. Will support others and develop others. Will still need some aspects supervised but often will take on checking roles as well as production.
- Minimum of 3 in many areas of CAD expertise
- Computer Literacy in basic software packages including Word, Excel, Power point etc
- Experienced in producing CAD outputs with packages including but not restricted to AutoCAD and / or MicroStation.
- Support of other resources in learning CAD delivery needs in the team.
- Team player, capable of working effectively in a geographically dispersed team
- Disciplined, organised, self-motivated and focused on the delivery of results
- Good communicator verbally and in written form
Role Competencies:
Technical Knowledge, Skills:Experience in producing CAD outputs with various CAD packages including but not restricted to AutoCAD and / or MicroStation. Understanding of key Health and Safety impacts on T&D construction contracts. (IOSH Managing safely; Environmental and Sustainability courses, CDM Awareness course).
Experience
Minimum experience of 10years in a CAD role working to deliver construction engineering projects, with a minimum of 5 years experience working in the T&D Sector in a CAD or Engineering role.
