We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst / Data Integration Analyst with a minimum of 7 years of handson experience in data profiling, data reverseengineering, sourcetotarget mapping, and endtoend traceability documentation.
You will play a key role in analyzing complex source systems, defining transformation logic, and creating comprehensive Data Mapping Specifications to support data integration, migration, and reporting initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Source Data Profiling and Reverse Engineering
- Analyze and profile complex source systems to understand table structures, field definitions, data types, relationships, and data quality patterns.
- Reverseengineer legacy or undocumented data sources to uncover business rules, hidden dependencies, and implicit logic.
- Identify data anomalies, gaps, and inconsistencies that may impact downstream integration or reporting.
- Mapping Rules and Transformation Logic Documentation
- Interpret business requirements and translate them into detailed data mapping rules.
- Define transformation logic, cleansing rules, derivations, lookups, and validation criteria in collaboration with SMEs, architects, and ETL developers.
- Ensure mapping logic is technically sound, clearly documented, and aligned with enterprise data standards.
- Data Mapping Specification and Traceability Development
- Build and maintain endtoend Data Mapping Specifications that include fieldlevel sourcetotarget mappings.
- Establish full traceability from business requirements through source fields, transformation logic, and target fields.
- Support ETL/ELT development teams by clarifying mapping rules and addressing data-related issues.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Interaction
- Work closely with business SMEs, architects, and development teams to ensure shared understanding of data requirements.
- Participate in design discussions and documentation reviews, providing clear analytical input.
- Communicate risks, issues, and data-related insights to project stakeholders.
Skills
Must have
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Integration Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong SQL skills for data profiling and source system analysis.
- Proven experience in reverseengineering complex or undocumented source systems.
- Solid understanding of data structures, relational databases, and metadata.
- Hands-on experience preparing Data Mapping Specifications and documenting transformation rules.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholderfacing skills.
