Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Leadership: Lead the development of architectural concepts for projects of various scales and complexities, ensuring that designs meet client objectives, budget constraints, and timeline requirements.
  • Project Management: Oversee all stages of the design process, including conceptualization, schematic design, design development, and construction administration. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships, presenting design proposals, and incorporating feedback to refine designs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and other consultants, to ensure cohesive and efficient project delivery.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects and design staff. Foster an environment of continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Code Compliance Documentation: Ensure that designs comply with local building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations. Oversee the preparation of architectural drawings, reports, and other necessary documentation for project approval and construction.
  • Innovation Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable design practices, innovative materials, and cutting-edge technologies into projects to meet environmental and performance goals.
  • Quality Control: Review and approve design work, ensuring consistency, quality, and accuracy in all architectural deliverables.
  • Business Development: Contribute to the firm s growth by identifying potential project opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of architectural experience, including significant project leadership and design responsibilities.
  • Experience across a variety of project types is preferred (e. g. , commercial, residential, institutional).
  • Licensing: Registered Architect (RA) or equivalent, with the ability to acquire licensure in other states as needed.

Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in architectural design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, etc. ).
  • Expertise in building systems, construction methods, and sustainable design principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and collaborate across disciplines.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and industry standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with project management software (e. g. , Procore, Buildertrend).
  • Knowledge of LEED certification or other green building standards.
  • Expertise in BIM (Building Information Modeling) and parametric design.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based with occasional site visits and client meetings.
  • Flexible work arrangements may be available depending on the project and location.
