Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Senior Accountant based in Navi Mumbai. The Senior Accountant will manage financial operations, ensure strict tax compliance, and streamline reporting for our Australian building and construction workflows. The role involves managing project financial health, tracking project margins, and collaborating with cross-functional technical teams to ensure efficient financial execution while maintaining compliance with Australian accounting standards and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance: Prepare and lodge monthly and quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS).
• Taxation: Manage annual Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and payroll tax obligations.
• Reporting: Generate monthly profit and loss, balance sheet, and variance reports.
• Project Tracking: Monitor job costing, construction WIP (Work in Progress), and project margins.
• Cash Flow: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily bank reconciliations.
• Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for external Australian tax agents.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in a senior accounting role.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience handling accounts for Australian building, construction, or architectural sectors.
• Software Expertise: Advanced, hands-on experience using Xero or QuickBooks Online.
• Tax Knowledge: Deep understanding of Australian tax laws, GST, and TPAR (Taxable Payments Annual Report).
• Tech Stack: Familiarity with construction or project management tools is highly regarded.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certification: CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification is strongly preferred.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills.
