Senior Accountant — Amadora Gourmet Ice Cream

Location: Chennai (on-site — Central Kitchen & Head Office) Reports to: Managing Director, working closely with our Fractional CFO Type: Full-time

About Amadora

Amadora is a premium artisanal ice cream brand, crafting small-batch ice cream from real ingredients since 2011 — Alphonso mangoes, single-origin chocolate, no premixes. From our central production kitchen in Chennai we supply a growing network of company-owned and franchise stores across South India, and we're on an ambitious expansion path. As we scale, we're investing in a sharper, more disciplined finance function — and this role sits right at the heart of it.

The Role

We've recently brought on a Fractional CFO to strengthen our financial governance and decision-making as we grow. We're now looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to be the in-house backbone of that finance office — the person who owns the books day to day and turns raw transactions into clean, timely numbers that the CFO and leadership team can act on.

What You'll Do

  • Own day-to-day accounting — accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations and journal entries
  • Run a clean, on-time monthly close and prepare the MIS pack (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, store-wise profitability) for CFO and MD review
  • Manage franchisee billing and receivables — invoicing against dispatch challans, ageing analysis, and collections follow-up
  • Handle statutory compliance — GST, TDS, ROC, PF/ESI — including filings and coordination with consultants and auditors
  • Maintain inventory and cost accounting for the central kitchen, including COGS and stock reconciliation
  • Track the daily cash position and support the weekly and monthly reporting cadence defined by the CFO
  • Manage vendor and supplier payments, reconciliations and ledgers
  • Support payroll processing in coordination with HR
  • Assist with statutory and internal audits, and help keep the books due-diligence ready for the next phase of growth

What We're Looking For

  • B.Com / M.Com; CA Inter or CMA Inter strongly preferred
  • 5–8 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in F&B, retail, FMCG or multi-outlet / manufacturing businesses
  • Strong command of Tally (or Zoho Books / a comparable ERP) and advanced Excel
  • Solid, current knowledge of GST, TDS and Indian statutory compliance
  • A sharp eye for detail, strong ownership, and the ability to hit close deadlines without being chased

Nice to Have

  • Experience with multi-location or franchise accounting
  • Exposure to inventory / cost accounting in a manufacturing or central-kitchen setup
  • Familiarity with Petpooja or a similar POS system
  • Experience supporting a CFO, or working through a fundraise or audit

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

  • The monthly close is reliably completed and the MIS pack lands by the 10th, every month, without firefighting
  • Franchisee receivables are clean and current, with ageing tracked and DSO trending down
  • All statutory filings (GST, TDS, ROC, PF/ESI) are tracked and filed on time, with zero penalties
  • Inventory and COGS records reconcile cleanly between the central kitchen and the books
  • The CFO's daily, weekly and monthly reporting cadence runs smoothly, with you as the dependable engine behind it
  • Our books are audit- and investor-ready as we move into our next phase of expansion
