Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with 3+ years of Post Qualification experience to join our finance team in Chennai. The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and experience in financial reporting. This role requires collaboration with teams across time zones (IST & MST) and expertise in accounting principles, compliance, and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting:

• Supervise and review daily accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Support audits and internal reviews to ensure compliance with financial policies and standards.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes are adopted by the team.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and perform variance analysis.
• Support budgeting, financial planning, and cost control activities.
  
  

Process Improvement & Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with global finance teams and perform intercompany reconciliations.
• Help optimize accounting workflows and enhance internal controls.
• Ensure smooth coordination between finance and other departments.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant.
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of post qualification experience, preferably in a multinational or corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Netsuite, Quickbooks or similar).
• Proficiency in MS Excel and google sheets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a hands-on approach.
• Effective communication and ability to work across time zones.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
