Role SAP TM Functional Consultant

Contract - Remote India

Experience - 7 -8 yrs

Required Technical Skill Set Must have worked in SAP TM

Experience in configuring and implementing VSR optimizer, charge management, freight order management, order management.

Core Functional Competencies

SAP TM Expertise: Deep understanding of SAP Transportation Management, including configuration and implementation of VSR Optimizer, Charge Management, Freight Order & Order Management.

S/4HANA TM Knowledge: Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with S/4HANA TM functionalities.

Cross-Module Integration: Working knowledge of SAP SD, MM, FICO, and interface handling from a functional perspective.

Master Data Management: Proficiency in setting up and managing master and transactional data in SAP TM.

Technical & Delivery Competencies

Implementation Lifecycle: Experience in full-cycle SAP TM implementations, including planning, configuration, testing, and post-go-live support.

Problem Solving & RCA: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis.

Agile & Waterfall Methodologies: Familiarity with both delivery models and ability to adapt based on project needs.

Data Conversion: Understanding of data migration and conversion processes for master and transactional data.

Domain & Business Competencies

Logistics & Supply Chain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Order-to-Cash, Procurement, and Service Delivery processes.

Industry Scenario Handling: Ability to manage shipper, LSP, and carrier-specific TM scenarios.

Client Engagement: Experience working in global environments with direct client interaction and expectation management.

Leadership & Soft Skills

Mentorship: Ability to guide and mentor junior consultants.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder interaction and documentation.

Collaboration: Team player with a collaborative mindset across business functions.

Adaptability: Agile mindset with the ability to work in dynamic and ambiguous environments.

Good-to-Have

Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience as an SAP TM Functional Consultant.

At least one full-cycle SAP TM implementation project.

Experience in S/4HANA TM is highly preferred.

Exposure to SAP EM (Event Management) and SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) is a plus.

Strong domain knowledge in Order-to-Cash, Procurement, and Service Delivery processes.

Experience working in global transformation, rollout, or support programs.

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

Provide expert-level support in resolving SAP TM-related issues using strong business and functional knowledge.

Configure and implement core SAP TM components, including:

VSR Optimizer

Charge Management

Freight Order Management

Order Management

Manage and support various industry-specific TM scenarios such as Shipper, Logistics Service Provider (LSP), and Carrier models.

Lead and participate in end-to-end SAP TM implementations and global rollouts, including blueprinting, configuration, testing, training, go-live, and hypercare support.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with SAP SD, MM, FICO, and third-party systems.

Manage functional interfaces, including order creation (from SAP and non-SAP systems), vendor communication, charge calculations, and financial postings.

Set up and maintain Master Data in SAP TM, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

Mentor and guide junior consultants, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.

Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Drive continuous improvement by identifying process optimization opportunities and implementing best practices.

Manage Incident Management by ensuring timely resolution of issues, proper categorization, and stakeholder communication.

Handle Service Requests efficiently, ensuring SLA compliance and customer satisfaction.

Lead Problem Management by conducting root cause analysis (RCA), implementing preventive actions, and reducing recurring issues.

Collaborate with Service Management teams to align with ITIL processes and ensure high-quality service delivery.

Identify, design, and implement automation solutions to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.

Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues to ensure system stability and availability.

Participate in Change Management processes, including impact analysis, testing, and deployment of changes in the SAP TM landscape.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and support procedures.

Support audit and compliance activities by ensuring proper controls, traceability, and adherence to governance standards.

Provide expert-level support in resolving SAP TM-related issues with strong business and functional knowledge

Ability to work with clients to identify business challenges and contribute to client deliverables by refining, analysing, and structuring relevant data. Logical thinking and problem-solving skills along with an ability to collaborate.

Ability to assess the current processes, identify improvement areas and suggest the technology solutions.
