Role Overview

The Checkpoint Firewall Engineer will be responsible for implementing and supporting end-to-end networking and security solutions across multi-cloud environments in a 24/7 rotational shift model. The role focuses on advanced firewall operations, secure connectivity, and network infrastructure support at Level 2 and Level 3.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Checkpoint Firewall and network infrastructure in a 24/7 environment.
• Implement and manage end-to-end networking solutions on multi-cloud platforms.
• Configure, manage, and upgrade Cisco devices including routing, switching, and Nexus devices.
• Work on multi-context firewall configurations and perform device upgrade activities.
• Establish secure connectivity through Site-to-Site (S2S), Client-to-Site (C2S) VPN and internet as per security policies.
• Understand client requirements and deliver end-to-end secure networking solutions.
• Support and manage firewall technologies including Checkpoint, FortiGate, and F5 Load Balancer.
• Handle network technologies such as VPC, BGP, routing, switching, and VPN configurations.
• Ensure adherence to ITIL processes using ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, and SPC.
• Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for network and firewall issues.
• Maintain documentation and update configuration standards and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to meet SLA and operational goals.

Primary Skills

• Cisco Routing and Switching with Nexus device knowledge
• Cisco multi-context firewall configuration and device upgrades
• ISE knowledge (preferred)

Secondary Skills

• Working knowledge of FortiGate Firewall
• Checkpoint Firewall
• F5 Load Balancer

Technical Expertise

• Site-to-Site VPN, Client-to-Site VPN, VPC, BGP, Routing and Switching
• Hands-on experience with Checkpoint Firewall platform
• Cloud networking experience on Azure, AWS, and GCP
• Understanding of CCNA-level networking fundamentals
