Role Summary
Salesforce Solution Architect is responsible for end-to-end solution design and delivery across the Salesforce platform, primarily supporting Life Sciences Cloud, Health Cloud, Service Cloud, Data Cloud, and MuleSoft-driven integrations. This role leads to discovery and requirements gathering with client stakeholders, produces solution documentation, supports presales solutioning and scoping, and drives implementation teams through delivery. This is a senior, client-facing individual contributor role. No travel. Fully remote.
Core Responsibilities
- Implement and govern end-to-end solution architecture aligned to approved business outcomes, platform standards, and security/compliance requirements
- Lead client-facing discovery, requirements workshops, and design sessions; translate requirements into clear functional and technical designs
- Own solution documentation including solution design documents, architecture diagrams, data flows, integration specs, and configuration/workflow decisions
- Define and review Salesforce data models, security model (profiles/permission sets/sharing), automation strategy (Flows), and programmatic approach (Apex/LWC)
- Architect Service Cloud capabilities (case management, Omni-Channel routing, knowledge, entitlements, email-to-case) and Life Sciences/Health Cloud patterns as applicable
- Define integration architecture and patterns across Salesforce and external systems (REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns such as Platform Events and Change Data Capture)
- Partner with MuleSoft and integration teams to design API-led connectivity, error handling, retries, and monitoring; provide architectural oversight even when not building MuleSoft flows directly
- Support presales solutioning and scoping, including high-level estimates, delivery approach, assumptions, risks, and implementation roadmap
- Provide technical leadership across onshore and offshore delivery teams through design reviews, build guidance, and quality gates
- Support regulated life sciences delivery needs (validation readiness, auditability, change control, and release governance)
- Drive environment strategy, CI/CD governance, and deployment readiness (Git, SFDX, Copado/Gearset/Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions or equivalent)
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of Salesforce platform experience with 3+ years in a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or Architecture role
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities, including data modeling, security architecture, and automation (Flows)
- Working knowledge of programmatic development on Salesforce (Apex and Lightning Web Components) sufficient to make design tradeoffs and guide developers
- Experience delivering solutions across multiple Salesforce clouds, including Service Cloud and at least one Life Sciences Cloud or Health Cloud
- Strong experience designing integrations (APIs and event-driven patterns) and coordinating with middleware teams (MuleSoft or equivalent)
- Experience producing and maintaining solution documentation used by technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience supporting Agile delivery teams and driving implementation through requirements, build, test, and release
- Strong client-facing skills: facilitation, clear written communication, executive-ready storytelling, and the ability to manage ambiguity without formal authority
Required Salesforce Certifications
- Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator (Administrator credential)
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer (Platform Developer I credential)
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II
Nice to Have
- Life sciences or healthcare domain experience (commercial, medical affairs, patient services, advanced therapies)
- Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud (including identity, segmentation, activation, and data model design)
- MuleSoft experience and/or certification: MuleSoft Certified Developer Level 1 (Mule 4)
- Experience with Veeva (Vault, CRM) and/or IQVIA OCE ecosystems
- Exposure to GxP-regulated or validated environments (validation documentation, traceability, test evidence, audit readiness)
- Additional Salesforce certifications (optional): Integration Architecture Designer; Identity and Access Management Designer; Data Architecture and Management Designer; Salesforce Certified Technical Architect
