Job Description

We are hiring a Business Development & Commercial Manager for a growing maritime decarbonization and sustainability solutions company focused on energy-saving technologies, regulatory compliance, and CO₂e credit solutions within the global shipping industry. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced commercial professionals with strong maritime industry exposure to drive business growth across decarbonization initiatives, energy efficiency solutions, and emissions compliance projects. The role involves developing strategic client relationships, managing complex commercial engagements, and supporting the adoption of innovative technologies that help shipowners achieve IMO and FEUM compliance targets while optimizing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and execute business opportunities within the maritime decarbonization sector, including energy-saving devices (ESDs), FEUM compliance solutions, and surplus CO₂e credit trading.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of shipowners, operators, charterers, ISM managers, and other maritime stakeholders across target markets.
  • Promote innovative energy-efficient technologies and ESD solutions that support regulatory compliance while reducing fuel consumption and operational costs.
  • Conduct market research and monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments impacting maritime decarbonization and sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop tailored sales strategies and go-to-market plans to drive revenue growth and expand market presence.
  • Engage with clients to understand their compliance and operational efficiency requirements, offering customized CO₂e credit solutions and ESD recommendations.
  • Deliver commercial presentations, technical proposals, and persuasive sales pitches to prospective customers and partners.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business, long-term partnerships, and upselling opportunities.
  • Coordinate closely with technical teams, project managers, and classification societies to ensure successful implementation of ESD projects.
  • Manage ESD-related projects involving technologies such as wind-assisted propulsion systems, air lubrication systems, optimized hull coatings, and other energy-efficiency solutions.

Requirements:

  • Min 5 years of sales experience in the marine / shipping industry (mandatory) and experience in international sales preferred.
  • Any relevant Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • Strong industry network & market knowledge required.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills required.
