Job Description

The Domestic Sales Manager will be responsible for selling Gravita's portfolio of manufactured finished goods to industrial buyers across India. This is a pure sales & business development role, focused on acquiring new customers, managing key accounts, driving market share, and achieving revenue targets. The role is based out of the Corporate Office but requires extensive domestic travel to customer locations.

1. Sales Target Achievement

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual volume and revenue targets for assigned product categories (e.g., Pure Lead, Lead Alloys, Aluminum Ingots, Red Lead, Litharge, Masterbatches, Lead Sheets).
  • Develop and execute territory-wise sales plans to maximize market penetration.

2. Customer Acquisition & Account Management

  • Identify, prospect, and onboard new industrial buyers
  • Manage relationships with existing key accounts to ensure repeat orders, retention, and upselling

3. Pricing & Contract Negotiation

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, credit limits, and supply agreements within corporate guidelines.
  • Work with the finance and legal teams to finalize annual rate contracts (ARCs) and tender submissions.

4. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

  • Monitor competitor pricing, product quality, credit policies, and customer service levels.
  • Provide regular market feedback to the corporate strategy and product teams regarding emerging trends, new applications, or gaps in the product portfolio.

5. Demand Forecasting & Supply Coordination

  • Collaborate with plant heads and the supply chain team to align customer demand with production planning and inventory availability.
  • Ensure timely dispatches and resolution of any logistics or quality-related customer complaints.

7. Team Leadership (If applicable)

  • Lead and mentor a team of Sales Executives.
  • Conduct regular sales reviews, pipeline meetings, and field training sessions.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • Experience: 7–12 years in industrial / B2B sales of raw materials or semi-finished/finished goods. Experience in metal industry is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets in a competitive commodity market.
  • Strong understanding of B2B credit sales, payment security, and contract management.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (domestic – 40–60% of time).
