Job Description

What will I be doing

As the Sales Manager – C&E, you will be responsible for the successful handling of groups, maximizing business opportunities, ensuring effective communication with clients, and efficient coordination with relevant departments, under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Events. Key responsibilities include:

  • Product Knowledge: Be thoroughly familiar with all hotel products and services, including rooms, catering, banquets, and other offerings.
  • Sales and Promotions: Promote and sell all hotel products, working towards achieving individual and departmental sales targets.
  • Sales Planning: Develop and implement sales plans with the approval of the Director of C&E or Commercial Director, maintaining and growing customer accounts within your assigned region or industry.
  • Client Engagement: Understand client needs through telephone, face-to-face meetings, and other channels, and transform these needs into confirmed business.
  • Contract Preparation: Efficiently prepare proposals and contracts for clients based on confirmed business needs.
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Advise clients on event planning and layout, negotiate final details, and ensure all event requirements are clearly communicated and coordinated across hotel departments.
  • Operations Communication: Distribute team and event information promptly to all relevant hotel departments and conduct regular coordination meetings to ensure flawless event execution.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service to organizers and guests during events or group stays, ensuring needs are met promptly and effectively.
  • Billing and Payments: Verify event billing accuracy daily, prepare and follow up on invoices, and ensure timely receipt of payments.
  • Post-Event Follow-up: Send thank-you notes, distribute follow-up questionnaires, and take action based on customer feedback to improve service.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and updated event records in the hotel's conference and banquet systems.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external clients and suppliers.
  • Market Awareness: Provide feedback on market trends and competitor activities to ensure a competitive advantage.
  • Revenue Forecasting: Assist the Director of C&E in forecasting room nights and banquet revenues.
  • Team Leadership: Help guide and develop the C&E Sales team, ensuring high service standards, team vitality, and achievement of departmental goals.
  • Recruitment and Training: Assist in recruiting, selecting, and training team members to maintain operational excellence.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned and adapt to departmental needs.
