We are seeking a qualified Safety Officer to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and providing training to staff. The Safety Officer will play a crucial role in preventing workplace accidents and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local and national regulations.
- Provide training and education to staff on safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Monitor workplace conditions and recommend improvements to enhance safety.
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices related to health and safety.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in a safety officer role or similar position.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards in India.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees and management.
- Proficient in conducting safety training and workshops.
- Ability to analyze data and prepare safety reports.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
