Research Assistant/Internship -AIDS

The Knowledge, Language, and Reasoning Lab at Jio Institute is inviting applications for Internship and Research Assistant positions. The lab focuses on research in knowledge representation, language understanding, and reasoning with Large Language Models (LLMs), with an emphasis on developing smaller, efficient models for diverse tasks. The research explores the creation of structured knowledge corpora, language understanding, and reasoning techniques to enhance the learning and performance of LLMs. We are particularly interested in methods that enable smaller language models to perform complex reasoning across a range of downstream tasks.

Eligibility Qualifications:

• A strong foundation in Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science.
• High proficiency in programming, particularly in Python (mandatory requirement).
• Ability to write clean, modular, and scalable code.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Deep Learning, or work involving LLMs is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with DL frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is highly desirable but not mandatory.

More importantly, ideal candidates will demonstrate:

• A strong learning mindset.
• A keen interest in staying up to date with recent research developments in NLP, ML, and AI.
• Initiative in exploring original ideas and asking meaningful questions.
