R&D Executive – Beverage Development

About the Role
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented R&D Executive to lead beverage innovation and product development across our portfolio. This role involves working from concept to commercialization—creating formulations, conducting trials, scaling production, and ensuring product quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Create Formulations & Prototypes
- Develop lab-scale beverage recipes including kombucha, sodas, iced teas, and functional drinks
- Adapt formulations to suit local taste preferences and ingredient availability
- Conduct sensory evaluations, analytical testing, and shelf-life studies
- Use data insights to refine taste, stability, and product performance
2. Lead Scale-Up
- Drive transition from lab-scale to commercial production
- Ensure consistency, process validation, and smooth execution during scale-up
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during production trials
3. Build SOPs & Specifications
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch sheets, and product specifications
- Ensure proper documentation for seamless technology transfer to production teams
4. Collaborate Cross-Functionally
- Work closely with Production, QA, Procurement, Packaging, and Marketing teams
- Ensure alignment across departments for efficient product execution and launch
5. Drive Ownership & Accountability
- Take complete ownership of projects from concept to market launch
- Ensure timelines, quality standards, and expected outcomes are consistently met
6. Stay Ahead & Innovate
- Track industry trends, emerging ingredients, and competitor products
- Collaborate with vendors to evaluate new materials and innovations
- Integrate consumer insights, clean-label requirements, and regulatory considerations into product development
7. Ensure Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate R&D records and documentation
- Ensure all formulations comply with FSSAI regulations and internal quality standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field
- 4–6 years of experience in beverage or food product development
- Strong understanding of beverage formulation, ingredients, and processing fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with scale-up and production trials
- Familiarity with sensory evaluation and shelf-life testing
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of ownership and execution speed
