We are looking for compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses to join our Palliative Care Centre in Tumkur, Karnataka. As part of our team, you will play a critical role in providing direct care to patients with serious illnesses, focusing on comfort, symptom management, and quality of life. This role requires a commitment to empathetic, patient-centered care in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
Direct Patient Care
- Provide comprehensive, compassionate nursing care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing symptoms.
- Assist with pain relief and other palliative care needs, ensuring patient comfort and dignity at all times.
- Support and implement individualized care plans in coordination with the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, counselors, and family members.
Medication Administration and Symptom Management
- Administer medications as prescribed, including pain management treatments, while monitoring for any side effects or changes in patient status.
- Assist in managing symptoms, including pain, nausea, breathing difficulties, and other physical or emotional distress, under the guidance of senior medical staff.
- Document and report patient responses, ensuring accurate and timely updates to patient records.
Patient and Family Communication
- Build supportive relationships with patients and families, offering education and guidance on palliative care practices and self-care techniques.
- Provide emotional support, fostering an environment of trust and respect, and addressing any questions or concerns families may have.
- Actively listen to patient and family needs, ensuring they feel informed, involved, and comfortable throughout the care process.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work closely with other nurses, doctors, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in team meetings, handovers, and case discussions to align on patient care strategies and updates.
- Contribute insights and observations to improve patient outcomes and team collaboration.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, medications, and care plans, in compliance with healthcare and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to all protocols for infection control, patient safety, and privacy to maintain a safe and compliant care environment.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities to support the centre's mission of providing excellent palliative care.
