About The Role
We are hiring a highly experienced
Quality Head – Automotive Manufacturing to lead end-to-end
Quality Management Systems (QMS) in a fast-growing automotive manufacturing setup based in Jamnagar.
This leadership role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in
IATF 16949, ISO 9001, OEM quality standards, automotive audits, homologation compliance, and core quality tools. The role requires hands-on experience in manufacturing environments such as
assembly, injection moulding, and pad printing processes.
The ideal candidate will drive
zero-defect manufacturing culture, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System (QMS) & Audits
- Lead and maintain QMS as per IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards
- Plan and execute VDA 6.3 audits, Layered Process Audits (LPA), Process Audits, Product Audits, and VSA
- Manage OQA (Outgoing Quality Assurance), IQC (Incoming Quality Control), and in-process quality systems
- Lead internal, external, and IATF certification audits
- Ensure timely closure of non-conformities using CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Action)
Customer & Regulatory Compliance- Handle OEM/customer audits independently with strong audit readiness
- Ensure compliance with EU Regulation 2018/858 and global automotive compliance standards
- Manage Conformity of Production (COP) requirements
- Coordinate with international homologation bodies such as:
- Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA)
- UTAC
- TÜV
- RDW
- Ensure compliance with ECE R100 and other automotive regulatory standards
Core Quality Tools & Continuous Improvement
- Drive implementation of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, VDA standards
- Lead defect reduction, Poka-Yoke implementation, and process improvement initiatives
- Monitor and improve process capability (Cp/Cpk) and quality KPIs
- Establish and strengthen zero-defect manufacturing culture
- Ensure accurate daily, weekly, and monthly quality reporting
Manufacturing Quality Operations- Ensure quality control across:
- Assembly line operations
- Injection moulding processes
- Pad printing & finishing operations
- Improve process stability and reduce internal & external rejection rates
- Lead cross-functional coordination with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive QMS
- Hands-on experience in OEM / Tier-1 automotive manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of OEM/customer audits and compliance management
- Expertise in CAPA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA
- Experience in automotive regulatory compliance & homologation
- Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder communication skills
- Proficiency in Hindi (mandatory)
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in automotive OEM or Tier-1 suppliers
- Exposure to international certification and regulatory bodies
- Background in automotive components manufacturing (plastic, assembly, printed parts, etc.)
- Experience in plant-level quality leadership roles
