Position: Manager – Quality Engineering
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Manager with deep expertise in Telecom Protocols to lead and drive quality assurance for our telecom and software solutions. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience in QA leadership, test strategy, and execution with strong knowledge of telecom protocol testing, automation, and end-to-end system validation. This role requires managing teams, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality product delivery.
Roles & Responsibility:
- Lead and manage a team of quality engineers across multiple projects, providing technical direction, mentorship, and performance management.
- Define and implement the overall test strategy, frameworks, and best practices for Telecom protocol validation and system testing.
- Collaborate closely with product management, architecture, and development teams to align quality goals with business objectives.
- Drive end-to-end validation of telecom protocols (e.g., 3G/4G/5G, IMS, SIP, Diameter, SS7, etc.) ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Oversee test planning, execution, automation coverage, and defect management.
- Perform risk assessments, root cause analysis, and ensure corrective/preventive actions are in place.
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs, metrics, and reporting to senior leadership.
- Stay updated on emerging telecom technologies, protocols, and testing methodologies, and guide the adoption of modern tools and practices.
- Partner with customer-facing teams to address escalations, resolve quality issues, and support customer acceptance testing.
Desired Profile: -
- 12+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, with at least 5+ years in a leadership/managerial role.
- Strong expertise in Telecom Protocols (LTE, 5G, IMS, SIP, Diameter, SS7, VoIP, RAN, Core Network, etc.).
- Proven experience in managing large-scale QA teams and complex telecom testing programs.
- Hands-on experience with protocol simulators, analyzers, and test tools (e.g., Wireshark, Spirent, Keysight, IXIA, etc.).
- Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and scripting (Python, Shell, or Java).
- Good knowledge of cloud-native platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to Big Data/Analytics platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- ISTQB/Agile Testing certifications preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience with additional core network technologies and telecom protocols.
- Familiarity with security testing and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, or GSMA security guidelines.
- Experience managing cross-functional integration testing with third-party vendors or external teams.
Work Experience: 12+ years in QA/Testing with significant exposure to Telecom Protocols and at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
Educational Qualification: BE. / B.Tech., M.E./M. Tech. or M. Sc. in Computer Science or any related qualification.
