About The Role
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Data Quality/ETL Tester to join our dynamic team at Prudent Technologies and Consulting, Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of our data assets through rigorous testing of ETL processes, data warehouses, and data pipelines. Your efforts will directly impact the integrity of data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data quality principles, ETL methodologies, and automation techniques to streamline testing procedures and enhance data governance. You will work closely with development teams, data analysts, and business stakeholders to identify issues, implement solutions, and uphold the highest standards of data quality across our projects.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in data quality assurance and ETL testing. A solid understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing principles, and relational database systems is essential. Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Snowflake are required. Familiarity with ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, DataStage, AWS Glue, or Azure Data Factory is highly desirable. Additionally, experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP will be advantageous. Candidates should have knowledge of data quality tools and techniques, test management, and bug tracking software like Jira or Azure DevOps. Strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive ETL test plans and cases, including developing automated testing scripts to improve efficiency.
- Validate data transformations and loading processes, employing automation tools to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Identify, document, and automate detection of data discrepancies and errors to facilitate prompt resolution.
- Perform data quality profiling and analysis using automated checks to maintain high data standards.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation purposes, automating validation workflows where possible.
- Test stored procedures, functions, and other database objects, creating automated test suites to streamline testing processes.
- Document test results comprehensively and generate detailed reports, utilizing automation to enhance reporting efficiency.
- Track, manage, and automate defect reporting using bug tracking tools, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Collaborate with developers and data analysts to resolve data issues and contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with business rules, data standards, and regulatory requirements through automated validation and checks.
- Support new product introductions by testing and validating data pipelines to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to develop best practices and defect prevention strategies within the team.
