Location: OMAN
Role Objective
To ensure all civil construction activities for solar projects are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements, with a strong focus on inspection, documentation, and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Control & Site Inspection
- Conduct inspection of civil works including:
- WTG / MMS / Tracker / Module Mounting foundations
- Inverter, transformer, and kiosk foundations
- Hardstand, roads, and related infrastructure
- Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
2. Material & Concrete Quality Assurance
- Witness and verify testing of:
- Concrete raw materials and fresh concrete
- Soil and compaction tests
- Review and approve design mix reports based on geotechnical data.
3. Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and manage:
- Work Inspection Requests (WIR)
- Material Inspection Requests (MIR)
- NCRs, MQRs, and quality logs
- Maintain complete QA/QC documentation for audits and handover.
4. Method Statements & ITP
- Review and approve:
- Method Statements
- Project Quality Plan (PQP)
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)
- Ensure all activities are executed as per approved ITP and checklists.
5. Coordination & Client Interface
- Coordinate with:
- Client and consultants for inspections and approvals
- Third-party laboratories for testing activities
- Expedite approvals through systems like Aconex or equivalent.
6. Testing & Field Quality Monitoring
- Ensure execution of:
- Field tests and lab tests as per FQAP
- Identify non-conformities and initiate corrective actions.
7. Handover & As-built Documentation
- Prepare handover dossiers for:
- Foundations, structures, and solar infrastructure
- Support preparation of as-built drawings and final documentation.
8. Technical Support
- Provide QA/QC guidance to site teams
- Support material approvals, inspections, and construction quality processes
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech / BE in Civil Engineering
- Experience in large-scale solar projects.
- Membership with engineering bodies (e.g., SCE) is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of: Solar project civil works (WTG/MMS foundations, piling, etc.)
- Quality systems and documentation (WIR, MIR, NCR, ITP)
