Why This Role Exists
Ginesys has 18+ QA engineers and 60+ product engineers across three product teams (ERP, Cloud POS, OMS). QA maturity varies some teams have partial automation, others are fully manual. There is no unified end-to-end regression suite across products, making every release a slow, manual gate. The QA Automation Lead will build an AI-powered automation framework, mobilize both QA staff and product engineers to create tests at scale, and eliminate QA as a release bottleneck enabling daily shipping within 8 weeks.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Unified Automation Framework: Build Unified Automation Framework (Weeks 12): Design and implement a Playwright-based test framework covering all three product lines, integrated with GitHub Actions CI/CD.
- Mobilize the Army: Mobilize the Army (Weeks 13): Train all 18+ QA staff on AI-powered test creation tools. Mandate that product engineers write tests for their features using Claude Code + Playwright. Establish definition of done = code + automated test.
- Eliminate Manual QA Bottleneck: Eliminate Manual QA Bottleneck (Weeks 36): Achieve 80%+ automated coverage on critical user flows across all products using AI-assisted test creation at scale.
- Build E2E Regression Suite: Build E2E Cross-Product Regression Suite (Weeks 48): Create end-to-end tests validating integration points: ERP Cloud POS OMS GIP. This is the biggest gap today.
- Deploy AI Testing Intelligence: Deploy AI Testing Intelligence (Weeks 28): Implement self-healing tests, visual regression (Applitools), flaky test detection (TestDino), and AI-assisted failure triage.
- Enforce CI/CD Quality Gates: Enforce CI/CD Quality Gates (Week 4+): No PR merges without passing automated tests. No deployments without passing regression. Non-negotiable.
- Define Quality Metrics: Define Quality Metrics & Report: Track automation coverage, test execution time, defect escape rate, and flaky test rate. Weekly report to Head of Engineering / CEO.
Required Experience
- 812 years in QA/SDET with 4+ years leading automation at a multi-product SaaS company
- Hands-on expertise with Playwright (primary); working knowledge of Selenium, Cypress, or Appium
- Proven experience building test automation across heterogeneous tech stacks (.NET, Node.js/Laravel, PHP)
- Experience with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI coding assistants for test generation
- Experience with AI-powered testing platforms (Testsigma, mabl, Katalon, or similar)
- Deep CI/CD integration skills with GitHub Actions
- Track record mobilizing large teams (20+ QA + engineers) to adopt automation rapidly
- Strong API testing experience (REST, GraphQL) for cross-product integration testing
- Experience transforming manual QA organizations to automation-first in compressed timelines
Strongly Preferred
- Retail, commerce, or ERP domain experience inventory, POS, order management workflows
- Experience with Playwright MCP and Playwright Agents (Planner/Generator/Healer subagents)
- Azure-based deployment and testing pipeline experience
- Experience with Applitools or similar AI visual regression tools
- Mobile testing experience (Android for Zwing POS app)
- CMMI or ISO 27001 testing compliance experience

- Your experience is limited to Selenium scripts for a single product or tech stack
- You prefer reporting/compliance this role requires writing code, building frameworks, and shipping automation daily
