Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop efficient, maintainable backend logic using Python.
• Write optimized and complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Build or enhance ETL processes, REST APIs, or data processing scripts.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, data analysts, or DevOps teams to integrate solutions.
• Optimize code and database performance, and troubleshoot data or application issues.
• Implement proper error handling, logging, and security best practices.
• Document codebase, database schemas, and process flows clearly.

Mandatory Skills:

• Python programming (data structures, OOP, modules, etc.)
• Strong proficiency in SQL (joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions)
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (indexes, performance tuning, PL/pgSQL)

Desirable Skills (Nice to Have):

• Familiarity with ORMs like SQLAlchemy or Django ORM
• Experience with REST API development (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
• Knowledge of ETL processes, data pipelines, or data warehousing
• Experience with Linux command-line tools and scripting
• Version control using Git
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, GCP)
