About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Developer with a strong background in risk management systems to join our dynamic technology team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical risk platforms that support front-office risk, market risk, and credit risk functions within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on development experience, particularly in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance risk management applications. You will be responsible for developing scalable microservices, integrating real-time messaging platforms, and collaborating closely with risk managers, quantitative analysts, and front office stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions. This position requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering reliable, secure, and efficient risk systems that comply with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a developer within financial services, preferably with a focus on front office risk, credit risk, or market risk technology teams. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field is essential, with an advanced degree considered a plus. Demonstrated expertise in programming languages such as Python and C++, along with solid experience in database development using MongoDB and SQL Server, is required. A thorough understanding of risk data models, including VaR, PFE, credit exposure, and market risk sensitivities, is crucial. Familiarity with real-time messaging platforms like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ, as well as experience working in agile development environments utilizing source control tools such as Git, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines, is also essential. Candidates should have a strong grasp of risk analytics libraries, pricing models, and integration with vendor risk engines like Murex, Calypso, or proprietary systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance high-performance risk management applications using Python and C++ to support real-time risk calculations and analytics.
- Collaborate effectively with risk managers, quantitative analysts, and front office stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Implement and support risk analytics engines, including scenario analysis, stress testing, and real-time market data ingestion, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Develop microservices and RESTful APIs using Python, integrated seamlessly with MongoDB and SQL Server backends to facilitate data processing and retrieval.
- Ensure the robustness and high availability of risk systems by designing and integrating reliable messaging architectures utilizing Kafka or IBM MQ.
- Participate actively in DevOps practices, including testing, deployment automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of development pipelines.
- Troubleshoot production issues promptly, optimize system performance, and ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
