Job Description

We are inviting applications from experienced candidates for the post of Purchase Manager, preferably from an engineering services background. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic procurement activities across multiple categories, sourcing equipment, goods, and services, and managing vendor relationships. This role also encompasses overseeing the dispatch of goods to customers both in India and abroad, requiring strong leadership, negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of procurement operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Procurement department in handling day-to-day operations.
  • Streamline Procurement activities and foster a positive working environment where employees feel valued, respected, and empowered.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve processes, policies, and procedures that align with business objectives.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms to ensure cost-effectiveness and favorable agreements.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power dynamics.
  • Demonstrate strong familiarity with sourcing and vendor management best practices.
  • Mentor and guide the support departments within the organization.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge on finalizing freight for export shipments.
  • Oversee the dispatching of goods to customers in India and abroad.

Education and Experience:

  • Engineering (B.E / B.Tech) and any Management degree or equivalent discipline (preferably full-time from a renowned management institute).

  • Highly organized, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyze problems, resolve issues, and multi-task effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to influence all departments, management, and employees.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Export and Import rules and regulations and the ability to interpret, apply, and articulate this knowledge in support of business activities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of LC (Letter of Credit) from banks and its negotiators.
  • Experience in liaisoning with Government Authorities for CT-1 Bond.
  • Knowledge of Bill of Lading.
