Job Title: Purchase Assistant to CMD

Reporting To: Chairman & Managing Director (CMD)

Job Summary
The Purchase Assistant to CMD will support procurement activities while directly assisting the CMD in strategic purchasing decisions, vendor management, and cost optimization for transformer components manufacturing. The role requires strong coordination, analytical ability, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Support
- Assist in sourcing raw materials such as CRGO steel, copper, insulation materials, and transformer components
- Prepare and process purchase orders as per requirements
- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery and order status
- Vendor Management
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers for cost-effectiveness and quality
- Maintain vendor database and performance records
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules under CMD guidance
- Coordination with CMD
- Act as a liaison between CMD and suppliers/vendors
- Prepare reports, summaries, and procurement analysis for CMD review
- Execute special assignments and strategic sourcing tasks as directed
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain purchase records, contracts, and agreements
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
- Assist in audits related to procurement
- Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with stores/production teams
- Support cost reduction initiatives and budgeting processes
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of transformer components and raw materials (preferred)
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP/Tally or similar)
- Attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Ability to handle confidential information
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management
- 2–5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in electrical/transformer manufacturing industry
Preferred Experience
- Experience in sourcing materials like copper winding wires, core laminations, insulation materials
- Familiarity with vendor markets and pricing trends in the power/electrical sector
