About Us

Purpose & Scope of Position

The Project Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering the overall project. The role is accountable for delivering the project within the scope, cost, and schedule baseline, ensuring that the area of the project is delivered within the safety, quality, and environmental best practices set out by TCE and the client. The Project Manager will manage TCE's business interests, including the prime contract, revenues, receivables, project viability, and profitability. Additionally, the Project Manager will ensure the project delivery process aligns with the owner's goals, objectives, and expectations. The role also involves resolving problems and coordinating the final handover of the project to the client.

Experience

  • Typically 12-15 years of experience in a multi-disciplinary environment on major projects
  • Five to ten years of experience in cross-functional leadership roles in a project/operations environment

Qualification

  • Postgraduate or graduate in an engineering discipline
  • Professional Project Management Certification (preferably from PMI)

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the definition, documentation, and safe execution of small to medium-scale projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identify, assess, and manage risks to the success of the project.
  • Effectively estimate costs, timescales, and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project(s) to agreed terms of reference.
  • Ensure that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained, tracking all activities against the plan, and providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Provide effective leadership to the project team, ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience. Conduct structured reviews of work and take appropriate action when performance deviates from agreed tolerances. Actively represent the project team and ensure effective relationships are built and maintained with the business.
  • Undertake or arrange for resource requests, training, and development of team members.
  • Manage the change control procedure and ensure that project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale, and resource budgets and are signed off. Gain agreement for revisions to the project(s) from project sponsors.
  • Ensure that change management and configuration management procedures are reviewed periodically, interfacing with operations management as necessary.
  • Ensure that own projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and documented. Produce appropriate documentation to support these processes.
  • Report progress on business readiness targets, business engagement activity, training design and deployment activities, key operational metrics, and return-to-productivity measures.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of systems development projects, using appropriate quality assurance processes to ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with the organization's agreed standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain project business continuity plans, monitor, and ensure compliance.
