Inspire Institute of Sport is looking for a Program Manger to anchor all JSW & IIS grassroots sports programs across India to join their team in Mumbai.
Key Responsibilities include:
Program Management
• Manage a portfolio of all JSW & IIS grassroots sports programs across India.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones for each programme.
• Coordinate with implementing partners (NGOs, sports entities, academies, and coaches) who will execute the majority of programs.
• Directly oversee and execute programs implemented by IIS directly, including project personnel management and operational execution.
Partner & Stakeholder Management
• Identify, onboard, and manage implementing partners; conduct due diligence and maintain partner performance standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for a wide network of grassroots sports stakeholders including community organizations, government departments, JSW site teams, and sports bodies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with JSW plant location teams (Business & CSR teams) and JSW Foundation leadership.
Financial Management & Reporting
• Manage programme budgets; process grant disbursements and bulk payments to implementing partners.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all expenditures are tracked against approved budgets.
• Prepare periodic financial and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support annual budgeting and programme planning cycles.
Reporting & Documentation
• Produce high-quality qualitative and quantitative programme reports.
• Maintain a centralised documentation system covering all programme data, partner agreements, and monitoring records.
• Contribute to IIS's broader impact/CSR reporting obligations to JSW Foundation.
Technical Integration
• Identify opportunities to deploy IIS's technical sports methodology and expertise to strengthen programme design and athlete outcomes.
• Liaise with IIS's sports science, coaching, and performance teams to embed best practices into partner-led programs where applicable.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree required; postgraduate qualification in sports management, project management, social impact, or a related field preferred.
• 2 - 6 years of experience in programme management, CSR implementation, sports administration, or social sector project delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities.
• Prior experience working with implementing partners, NGOs, or grassroots sports organizations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with grassroots sports development ecosystems in India - particularly football, Kabaddi, Olympic Sports, or indigenous sports - will be an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder programs in parallel.
• Strong stakeholder and relationship management capabilities across diverse groups.
• Sound financial literacy - comfortable with budgets, financial reports, and grant management.
• Excellent written communication - able to draft clear, professional emails and narrative reports.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across India (approximately 60% of working time).
• Self-driven, proactive, and able to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with project management tools is a plus.
