About the Role:
The Production Officer is the shift in-charge responsible for end-to-end production execution on the assigned line. The role ensures achievement of production targets with a strong focus on right-first-time quality, machine efficiency, manpower productivity, and compliance with food safety standards. The Production Officer also plays a key role in training, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Production Execution & Process Control
- Drive shift-wise production execution as per plan, ensuring target achievement with Right First Time (RFT) performance.
- Ensure adherence to BOM, process parameters, and SOPs across compounding, manufacturing, and packaging operations.
- Maintain process discipline and minimize deviations, rework, and wastage.
Quality, Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure finished goods meet defined quality specifications and regulatory standards.
- Monitor in-process controls, CCPs, and ensure batch traceability.
- Ensure accurate completion of production logbooks, quality checklists, and audit-ready documentation.
Manpower Management & Capability Development
- Plan and deploy manpower effectively across operations to optimize productivity.
- Supervise and drive performance of picking & compounding, manufacturing, and packaging operators.
- Conduct shift briefings and lead training initiatives on GMP, GHP, SOPs, and operational skills.
- Build a skilled operator pipeline through structured upskilling and cross-training.
Equipment Efficiency & Shopfloor Excellence
- Ensure implementation of 5S and autonomous maintenance (Jishu Hozen) practices.
- Monitor and improve line efficiency/OEE through effective machine utilization and downtime control.
- Coordinate with maintenance for breakdown resolution and ensure equipment upkeep.
- Identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, process optimization).
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to enhance productivity and consistency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate / Diploma in Food Technology, Engineering, or related field
- 2–3 years of experience in production operations of Food ingredients/FMCG companies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of batch processing, BOM control, and shop-floor operations
- Knowledge of GMP, GHP, HACCP, and food safety systems
- Manpower handling and shift management capability
- Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production reporting
