Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Engineer with experience in the sheet metal and fabrication industry. The candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production, quality compliance, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities in sheet metal and fabrication units.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within specified timelines.
- Prepare production schedules and coordinate with design, quality, and store departments.
- Monitor machine utilization (Laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, etc.) and optimize productivity.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
- Identify process improvements to reduce wastage and improve efficiency.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices and cost control measures.
- Handle manpower planning and shop floor supervision.
- Ensure safety guidelines and industrial standards are followed on the shop floor.
- Coordinate with maintenance team for machine upkeep and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain production reports, MIS reports, and documentation.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal processes (Cutting, Bending, Welding, Fabrication, Assembly).
- Understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD / SolidWorks (preferred).
- Familiarity with production planning tools and ERP systems.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Eligibility Criteria
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sheet metal or fabrication industry (Freshers may apply for trainee role).
- Knowledge of quality tools and production documentation preferred.
