Summary:
Handles many of the oversight duties involved in getting a product from the concept stage to the production stage. Works to maximize product success by foreseeing customer and market demands. Responsible for ensuring that best practices are followed, goals are met, and projects and related operations are conducted effectively. Coordinates marketing, sales, and other product-implementation strategies to ensure that operations are properly conducted. Serves as a liaison between stakeholders and the development/implementation teams. Evaluates the market to find ways to better serve customers and increase profitability. Typically has extensive experience and training in various aspects of business and commerce. Proactive, leadership-oriented, and familiar with the needs of the company and the customer base.
Responsibilities:
- Transform business and market strategies into actionable, defined product plans.
- Lead market research and position conversations to ensure viable products and balanced growth.
- Define and document product requirements and roadmaps for execution and sales.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for every stage of product development.
Requirements:
- Strong product management experience (3&ndash7 years), preferably in Payroll, Tax Compliance, or FinTech SaaS domains.
Required Skills:
- Must have knowledge of technical processes, adherence to marketing guidelines, and familiarity with business strategies.
- Ability to communicate effectively, analyze data from numerous inputs, and provide direction and guidance to subordinates.
- Proven track record of driving large-scale and complex initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data (Excel, dashboards) to drive prioritization and measure product impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills ability to influence and align leadership, engineering, compliance, and customer-facing teams.
- Customer-first mindset with demonstrated ability to balance compliance accuracy with usability and customer experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of U.S. federal and county payroll tax filing processes, including quarterly/annual filings, and year-end reporting.
- Familiarity with the payroll provider ecosystem (IRS e-file, SSA, county portals, amendment workflows) is a strong plus.
