Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Procurement (Steel & Ferrous) to lead the strategic sourcing and procurement of steel and ferrous materials critical to Brick2Wall's operations. This role will drive supplier partnerships, ensure cost-effective procurement, and guarantee timely material availability to support fast-paced project execution and business growth. This position will report to the Director Commercial, Sales – Steel & Ferrous.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Define and implement a forward-looking procurement strategy for steel and ferrous materials in alignment with company goals.
- Monitor global and domestic market trends, pricing forecasts, and industry developments to inform procurement planning.
- Establish category strategies and lead annual procurement planning cycles.
2. Supplier & Vendor Management
- Identify, onboard, and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
- Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and contracts with key suppliers to achieve a competitive advantage.
- Develop a robust supplier performance management system, including scorecards and periodic reviews.
3. Cost & Contract Management
- Drive cost optimization without compromising quality and delivery timelines.
- Lead procurement budgeting, tracking, and reporting in collaboration with the finance team.
- Ensure commercial due diligence and risk mitigation in all procurement contracts.
4. Procurement Operations & Process Excellence
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to final delivery and vendor payment coordination.
- Implement process automation, e-sourcing platforms, and procurement best practices to increase transparency and reduce cycle time.
- Continuously improve procurement processes and governance controls.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with the projects, sales, planning, logistics, and finance teams to ensure alignment on material requirements, delivery schedules, and inventory optimization.
- Ensure real-time visibility into procurement status for internal stakeholders.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with internal controls, legal regulations, and ethical procurement practices.
- Develop contingency sourcing strategies to minimize disruption due to supply chain volatility.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Any graduate
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in steel and ferrous procurement
- Proven experience in managing large vendor networks.
