Job Description & Summary: Lead end-to-end technical pre-sales and solution architecture for large-scale manufacturing digital transformation initiatives. Own the technical strategy, solution design, and RFP/RFI responses for high-value Industrial IoT, MES, and Digital Operations opportunities, partnering closely with sales and delivery teams to drive business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the complete technical solutioning lifecycle for MES and Industrial IoT engagements, including conceptual design, effort sizing, and architecture definition
- Own the technical narrative across RFPs/RFIs, ensuring comprehensive coverage of business, functional, and non-functional requirements
- Develop compelling technical value propositions, compliance matrices, solution assumptions, and risk mitigations to support commercial structuring and deal closure
- Act as the primary technical authority during bid reviews, customer evaluations, and solution defense sessions
Solution Architecture
- Design scalable, secure, and future-ready architectures bridging OT and IT landscapes, aligned with ISA-95 and manufacturing best practices
- Architect and integrate solutions leveraging Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre (FTPC), Plex MES, Emulate3D, PLC/SCADA platforms, and ERP systems
- Define MES workflows across production, quality, genealogy, traceability, and performance management use cases
- Design and deploy cloud-native and hybrid architectures on Azure and AWS to support enterprise-scale MES and IIoT solutions
Client Engagement & Advisory
- Lead discovery workshops to capture shop-floor, operational, and business requirements across manufacturing domains
- Conduct technical demonstrations, architecture walkthroughs, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs)
- Present and defend solution architectures to senior technical stakeholders and C-level executives
- Collaborate with sales, delivery, and partner teams to shape deal strategy, pricing inputs, and customer value propositions
Mandatory skill sets:
Rockwell & MES
- Hands-on experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre (FTPC) for enterprise MES deployments
- Strong expertise in Plex MES, including cloud-native MES architectures and SaaS manufacturing solutions
- Deep understanding of IT/OT convergence and manufacturing data standards (ISA-95, OPC UA, MQTT, etc.)
Emulate3D & Digital Twin
- Experience building Emulate3D models for virtual commissioning, including conveyors, body controls, and press control systems
- Strong capability in 3D model development and system simulation to validate PLC/HMI logic prior to physical commissioning
- Proven ability to collaborate with controls engineers and train teams on Emulate3D adoption and best practices
Control Systems & Integration
- PLC programming experience, preferably with Rockwell Automation platforms
- Integration of MES with PLC/SCADA systems and enterprise ERP platforms
- Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols and real-time data acquisition
Software & Data
- Proficient in Java and SQL for MES customization, integrations, and data handling
- Familiarity with .NET-based web applications and standard web technologies
Cloud & Platform Engineering (Preferred – Plex & SaaS MES)
- 5+ years of experience operating cloud and platform engineering environments
- Hands-on exposure to Kubernetes in production (multi-cluster environments, Rancher, Cluster API)
- Infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible
- Strong experience with Azure and AWS, Linux environments, containers (Docker, containerd), and load balancing (Azure Load Balancer / F5)
- Observability and monitoring using tools such as OpenTelemetry, Elastic, PRTG, and Dynatrace
- Solid understanding of RBAC, security policies, secrets management, and enterprise security practices
- Ability to diagnose and analyze network and protocol-level issues using tools like Wireshark (IPv4/IPv6, FTP, HTTP, SSL)
Profile & Soft Skills
- Strong manufacturing domain expertise across industrial automation, MES, and digital operations
- Proven ability to translate shop-floor realities into scalable, enterprise-grade MES and IIoT architectures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear business value
Preferred skill sets:
- -Relevant Certifications are good to have.
- Comfortable in customer-facing, pre-sales, and solution-defense roles; prior SRE, platform engineering, or enterprise architecture experience is a strong plus
Years of experience required:
Overall, 9+ years in Manufacturing Digital Transformation and architecture.
Education Qualification
B.E. / B.Tech / MCA/ M.E/ M.TECH/ MBA/ PGDM. All qualifications should be in regular full-time mode with no extension of course duration due to backlogs.
