Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive Procurement Executive to support our rapidly growing operations in an AI-driven R&D environment. This role is critical in ensuring seamless sourcing of scientific materials, technology solutions and operational supplies while optimizing cost, quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement of APIs, excipients, specialty chemicals, lab consumables, packaging materials and research equipment.
  • Manage procurement of outsourcing requirements working closely with CRO partners & Topia project manager to meet quality & performance metric expectations.
  • Support sourcing of AI/IT-related infrastructure, software tools and data services in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with Topia's R&D and innovation goals.
  • Identify, evaluate and onboard qualified domestic and international suppliers.
  • Lead commercial negotiations to achieve cost efficiency and favorable contractual terms.
  • Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
  • Partner closely with Computational Chemistry, Pharmacology, Finance and Operations teams to align procurement priorities and meet purchase & delivery timelines.
  • Leverage data-driven insights and procurement analytics tools to optimize spend and vendor performance.
  • Monitor global market trends, especially in pharma raw materials and scientific equipment and feedback to Leadership to maintain sustainability.
  • Collaboratively evolve Topia Procurement framework (best practice, tools, ways of working) adopting a can-do behaviour in all situations.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements (GMP/GLP) and internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting and inventory coordination.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure business continuity.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of life sciences/pharmaceutical procurement.
  • Exposure to AI-driven or digital-first business environments preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data, pricing trends and cost structures.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and adaptable in a fast-paced, innovation-driven setup.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Supply Chain or related field.
  • 3 - 6 years of relevant experience in pharma, biotech, CRO, CDMO or research-driven organizations.
  • Experience in procurement supporting R&D or computational environments is an advantage.

Preferred Attributes

  • Familiarity with sourcing for computational chemistry labs or AI platforms.
  • Understanding of global supplier networks and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to align procurement with technology-enabled and innovation-led business models.
