About The Role
The Principal RPA CoE Lead will be responsible for establishing and scaling an enterprise-grade RPA Center of Excellence at the Pune GCC, supporting global automation initiatives for Minimed. This role combines hands-on RPA expertise, CoE capability building, and strategic stakeholder engagement.
The role requires deep expertise in UiPath (mandatory), exposure to Automation Anywhere (preferred), and proven experience setting up an RPA practice from the ground up for a global organization—covering governance, delivery, platform ownership, and value realization.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Having relevant or total 12+ years of experience
- Responsible for evaluating and designing, developing or modifying programs for internal functional areas including finance, human resources, and marketing.
- Analyze existing programs and/or formulate logic for new systems.
- Develop system design documentation (including GUI design, if required), perform coding, and test/debug programs.
- Create ad hoc or bolt-on programs for integrations or functional business teams as needed.
- Develop conversion and system implementation plans.
- Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation.
- Recommend changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.
- Train users in system enhancements and modifications.
- Provide patch and software upgrades to existing systems as required.
- Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation for program support.
- Analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Works closely with functional users to enhance and maintain programs
- Acts as a hands-on leader and capability builder.
- Balances strategic thinking with execution ownership.
- Influences global stakeholders without formal authority.
- Builds a sustainable, scalable RPA practice, not just individual automations.
Key Responsibilities
- RPA CoE Setup & Operating Model
- Establish and operationalize a global RPA CoE from the Pune GCC.
- Define the CoE operating model, including:
- Demand intake and prioritization
- Delivery and support model
- Governance, standards, and controls
- Build a scalable automation factory to support multiple global functions and geographies.
- RPA Platform Ownership & Technical Leadership
- Own the RPA platform strategy and implementation, with primary focus on:
- UiPath (Studio, Orchestrator, Attended/Unattended Bots)
- Automation Anywhere (as an additional/complimentary platform)
- Define and enforce standards for:
- Bot architecture and development
- Exception handling, resiliency, and reusability
- Security, credential management, and access controls
- Work closely with IT, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure platform stability and compliance.
- End-to-End Automation Delivery
- Lead the full automation lifecycle, including:
- Opportunity identification and process assessment
- Business case and ROI definition
- Solution design, build, test, deploy, and hypercare
- Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of:
- Attended and unattended automations
- Integrations with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.)
- Track and report value realization (cost savings, productivity, cycle-time reduction).
- GCC Team Build & Capability Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing RPA team in Pune, including:
- RPA architects
- Developers
- Business analysts
- Bot support/operations resources
- Define skill frameworks, role clarity, and career paths within the CoE.
- Drive training, certification, and upskilling programs (UiPath certifications preferred).
- Establish strong engineering discipline and automation best practices.
- Global Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary RPA partner for global business and IT stakeholders.
- Work with senior leaders to:
- Identify and prioritize automation opportunities
- Align automation initiatives with enterprise strategy
- Provide regular visibility into:
- Automation pipeline and delivery status
- Benefits realization and KPIs
- Risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans
- Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Establish CoE governance covering:
- Intake, prioritization, and funding
- Change, release, and bot lifecycle management
- Production support and monitoring
- Ensure automations comply with:
- IT security standards
- Audit and regulatory expectations (especially relevant for med-tech environments)
- Define support and monitoring models for bots in production (including L2/L3 support).
- Innovation & Intelligent Automation
- Expand the CoE beyond traditional RPA by introducing:
- Process and task mining
- OCR, document understanding, and AI capabilities
- Workflow and low-code integrations
- Evaluate and adopt new features within the UiPath and Automation Anywhere ecosystems.
- Drive continuous improvement in automation maturity across the enterprise.
