Job Description

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • All responsibilities described in the Teacher Job Description apply to this role in addition to the following expectations:
  • Investigating to carry out a purposeful inquiry or research, to test existing understanding, discover new information, and create new understanding. 
  • Conduct research on software, applications, and tools to create opportunities for successful Technology Integration.
  • Provide learners with an opportunity to innovate and test boundaries through Creating. 
  • Assisting in the creation of videos and a variety of media to promote the school.
  • Facilitating the exchange of information with various audiences using a range of media and formats through communicating. 
  • Provide assistance and training to faculty on technology-related topics in order to support student achievement.
  • Facilitating learners with validating and negotiating ideas and reaching a deeper understanding and a global perspective through collaborating by empowering learners through digital media and environments and through active participation in creating and sharing knowledge. 
  • Coordinate with the Primary Leadership Team and Teachers in planning and building integrated lesson plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers to conduct tech-integrated sessions with students.
  • Working with Grade 4 and 5 teams to implement digital portfolios.
  • Working with the Ambassadors to ensure technology.
  • Collaborating with the Early Years team to implement technology (scheduled time with SKG).
  • Collaborating with Library on IT integration.
  • Ensuring that learners understand that ICT systems can be used to inform, adapt, manage and problem-solve during their creative, communicative, collaborative and investigative processes. 
  • Update the School Information Centre and assist teachers with the Personal Growth Plan.
  • Provide support in installing apps on iPads, recording multimedia projects.
  • Conduct IT-related events (eg. Hour of Code).
  • Provide assistance and training to faculty on technology-related topics in order to support student achievement.
  • Provide assistance for troubleshooting for Teachers.
  • Plan and be actively involved in the planning of the ICT Committee.
