We are seeking a Pre-press and Production Designer for a global Book Publishing House.
Job Profile
Manage the designing, pre-press process, and printing of early learning, activity books, novelty books, and paperbacks.
Oversee pre-press processes to ensure accuracy and quality in print production.
Set up complex dyelines for childrens board books, pop-ups, and custom-shaped paper bags.
Fine-tune CMYK profiles for vibrant childrens illustrations to ensure color consistency from screen to print.
Manage trap settings, bleed, transparency flattening, and font embedding.
Collaborate with the design and production teams.
Act as the primary point of contact for external printing presses.
Troubleshoot printing issues and perform quality control for design and production materials.
Maintain a meticulous digital library of all Final for Print files.
Manage the backup process for all print assets to prevent data loss.
Pre-press And Production Designer Requirements
4+ years of experience in a print-heavy environment.
Direct experience in childrens book publishing(non-negotiable).
Expertise in dyeline settings and colour correction.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, photoshop and Illustrator.
Strong communication skills.
